NFC Recruitment Selection Process & Exam Pattern

The selection process varies according to the post. It mainly includes Interview / Written Tests / Skill Test depending on the role.

For Scientific Officer & Scientific Assistant : (Post Codes: 12601, 12603, 12604)

• The selection is primarily based on a Personal Interview
• Candidates are assessed on technical knowledge, experience, and suitability for the role
• If a large number of applications are received, NFC may conduct a Screening Testto shortlist candidates
• Objective type test (75 MCQs)
• Duration: 90 minutes
• Marking scheme: +3 for correct answers, -1 for wrong answers
• Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the final interview

For Nurse, Pharmacist & Technician : (Post Codes: 12602, 12605, 12606)

• The selection process consists of three stages:

Stage 1 – Preliminary Test

• Objective type (OMR-based) test
• Total 50 MCQs:
  • Mathematics – 20 questions
  • Science – 20 questions
  • General Awareness – 10 questions
• Duration: 1 hour
• Marking scheme: +3 (correct), -1 (incorrect)
• This stage is qualifying in nature
• Minimum qualifying marks:
  • 40% for General category
  • 30% for Reserved categories

Stage 2 – Advanced Test

• Objective type test with 50 MCQs (subject-related)
• Duration: 2 hours
• Marking scheme: +3 (correct), -1 (incorrect)
• This is the most important stage, as the final merit list is prepared based on these marks
• Minimum qualifying marks:
  • 30% for General category
  • 20% for Reserved categories

Stage 3 – Skill Test

NFC Recruitment Other Important Information

• Candidates must be citizens of India.
• Age will be calculated as of the last date for submission of applications (18/04/2026).
• Age Relaxation: OBC – 3 years; SC – 5 years; PwBD – 10 years; Ex-servicemen and Central Government employees – as per Government orders; Widows/Divorced/Judicially separated women (who have not remarried) – up to 35 years for Group C posts (12605, 12606).
• PwBD candidates (OL, HH) may apply for Post Code 12602; PwBD candidates (OA, OL, HH) may apply for Post Code 12605.
• For Post Codes 12602 and 12605, the facility of a ‘Scribe’ (assistant writer) is available for PwBD candidates during Stage 1 and Stage 2, wherein an additional compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour will be granted.
• SC/ST candidates who are called to appear for the examination/interview/Skill Test outside their home city will be reimbursed their Sleeper/Second-class rail fare for travel (subject to conditions).
• Candidates currently employed in Central/State Government or PSUs are required to submit a ‘No Objection Certificate’ (NOC) at the time of the interview/Skill Test.
• The question papers will be available in both English and Hindi languages.
• Selected candidates may be posted to serve in any constituent unit of the Department of Atomic Energy, anywhere within India.
• Appointment shall be subject to passing the medical fitness examination conducted by the NFC.
• The validity of the Selection List/Wait List shall remain in force for a period of one year from the date of declaration of results.
• Examination Centers: Hyderabad (Telangana), Mumbai (Maharashtra), Rawatbhata (Rajasthan), Pazhayakayal (Tamil Nadu) – Tentative. In the event of any dispute, only courts situated in Hyderabad shall have jurisdiction.
